HOSTING 201

October 29 - November 1, 2026

Once again, Hosting 201, the follow-up to the Introduction to Hosting, is being offered. It will begin with the 5 o’clock gathering October 29 and finish at noon on November 1st.

This time together is for experienced hosts, those who have been hosting for at least a year at the Lodge or Hermitage and who want to deepen or refresh their approach to various aspects of hosting.

The main focus will be exploring and strengthening the 5 pm gatherings at the Lodge and the Hermitage. We will reflect on the intention/purpose of these gatherings for both groups and individuals, look closely at core principles and elements for these community gatherings. Then, working together in groups of two or three, take time to design, receive feedback, and lead everyone in the prayer time they have planned.

A Forest Walk is also included so that we can explore our relationship with the forest and the land which welcome us so generously. What does the forest to teach us about hosting and about our Rivendell core values?

This gathering creates a wonderful time to get to know other hosts, have site-specific meetings, and talk through the practical details and ideas that have popped up over the year.
