Hermitage Retreats [Aug 14-17]
New offerings for 2025: 3 day silent retreats at Rivendell’s Hermitage Site

A silent retreat provides space to rest, pray, be in nature and deepen your spiritual journey. These particular retreats are an opportunity to experience silence at the Forest House of Prayer. Please read about the hermitage site on this web site to determine whether this is an appropriate retreat space for you. You will be staying in one of our small cabins nestled in the trees. The cabins are non-serviced but you have access to the main house with living room, kitchen, full bathrooms and a gathering space in the loft. You need to bring your own bedding and towels. Healthy yet simple meals will be provided. This is an opportunity to experience the hermitage along with a small group of 5 retreatants and 2 directors. The dates, registration details and directors are listed below.
The format for this retreat is similar to what is offered at the lodge. Following an introduction to silence on the first evening, you are invited to shape the day as you are led. Spiritual Direction is offered daily, there is a group gathering at 5pm and meals are shared in silence. These retreats are individually directed, and the themes for our daily gatherings emerge from the group.
Retreat Cost: $240 ($80/day) for food and facilitation PLUS what you can give generously for your private cabin accommodation. (It costs us aprox. $75/night to run our facility). When you come to Rivendell for your retreat, you can pay by cheque, cash or e-transfer at booking@rivendellretreat.org.
Registration Fee: A $20 non-refundable registration fee is taken at time of registration.
